The CITY INFO story began in 1974, when Manfred Ruescher was traveling through Germany as a young Promotion Manager. Manfred was sent weekly to new Cities to fulfill his marketing and promotions job.

After work he wanted to explore the town and the area around and found out where to dine or which theatre he could visit or just simply where to play a game of pool billiard ? To find out where people meet, he had to get advice from Concierges, with the information given, have always been different and often unsatisfactory, depending on the age of the concierge.

Manfred was wondering why there is not a map with some recommendations of where to go. At this stage the Idea of CITY INFO was created.

It still needed 10 years till the first CITY INFO in 1984 was printed in Munich. After Munich was started very successfully, Manfred decided to bring CITY INFO to other cities as well. Stuttgart, Hamburg, Cologne, Berlin just to name a view of the following Cities.

In 1989 Manfred met Gerlinde in Italy, a great connection has started; because Gerlinde was not just fallen in love with Manfred but also with the CITY INFO Idea as well. 

Manfred made it as an engagement gift to Gerlinde, his first international CITY INFO in Vienna. Salzburg was following and from this time no one could stop them. CITY INFO Austria got sold in 2004 and CITY INFO Germany changed hands in 2005.

2004 CITY INFO Australia got started because Manfred and Gerlinde have traveled to this Continent many times and loved it so much that they decided to move to Brisbane. In April 2007 the first CITY INFO in Sydney and in October 2007 CITY INFO in Melbourne got started.  

CITY INFO is well known for nearly 25 years. Many Customers are advertising since the first issue, in Berlin or Munich for 25 years in Brisbane for 4 years and so on. 

CITY INFO is known as a great Map with lots of very good maps and a huge variety of different business which shows what the City has to offer.
